ACES Global Activity Awards

Request for Proposals – FY19-20 (August 16, 2019 – August 15, 2020)

The College of ACES and Global Initiatives Program (GIP) are pleased to announce competitive “ACES Global Activity Awards”. Competitive Awards, funded through the College of ACES, are intended to further the mission of ACES GIP and benefit the College, Faculty, Students, and Citizens of New Mexico. ACES Global Activity Award recognizes the importance of interactions within the worldwide scientific community.

These awards will support faculty’s Global Efforts related in one or more of the ACES 4 pillars for Economic and Community Development (Food and Fiber Production and Marketing, Water Use and Conservation, Family Development and Health of New Mexicans, and Environmental Stewardship). These awards will support Global activities related to teaching, research, extension/ outreach, building relationships, attending conferences, and student recruitment. Even though small at the beginning, these awards will increase the visibility of the College of ACES globally. All ACES faculty are eligible to apply.

Approximately $3000 will be available each year for supporting global activities, out of which $1200 will be available during the Fall semester, $1200 during Spring semester, and $600 during the summer. These funds can be used for paying registration fees, travel, or any other expenditure related to the Global Activity.

To apply for a Global Activity Award, please include the following (1 page maximum):

  1. Name, department, email
  2. Requested budget and dates of the proposed activity
  3. Description of the proposed Global Activity

    a. Why is the activity important?
    b. What will you be doing?
    c. How will this help the college of ACES’ global visibility and student recruitment?

Application Deadlines:

August 30, 2019 (for Fall), January 24, 2020 (for Spring), and May 22, 2020 (for summer) Awards will be announced shortly after the deadline.
