First Congress of Agricultural Education - Chihuahua

Global Initiatives Program | Faculty Reports

June 19-21, 2019
Chihuahua, Mexico

Dr. Eduardo Medina, New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service, represented college of ACES and gave a presentation on how the Cooperative Extension Service at NMSU works in New Mexico.

The participants at this conference were all staff and faculty of different Agricultural Colleges in Mexico. There were Directors, professors, staff and the president of their governing board (Ing. Jose Fernando Sanchez Santana). I was able to talk to different professors and directors of theses colleges and gave them my information for further contact.

Ing. Jose Fernando Sanchez Santana and I also had a very lengthy talk about work that NMSU had performed under SAGARPS (REINU), where we had previously met in Lagos de Moreno Jalisco. He showed great interest in retaking this initiative where Extension would be more representative of the Land Gant System than what is practiced in Mexico at present.
